The production process

EPS is the abbreviation of Expanded Polystyrene, a plactic product generated through oil refining.

The look and texture of the EPS raw material is like sugar, consisting of approximately 94% polystyrene, and 6% pentane. Pentane is a propellant, which is found in nature, having no influence on the ozone layer, and showing no other environmentally damaging influences.

The EPS raw material is expanded by aqueous vapour to the specific gravity wanted, and then it is moulded in aluminium moulds by further admission of aqueous vapour. Shape moulded products are ready for delivery at once, whereas the blocks have to be contour cut.

The finished EPS products contain up to 98% air and 2% polystyrene, and thus have a low net weight.
