Sharp profile by silk screen printing
Every year Stenvad Gartneri, which has specialised in growing cauliflower and Chinese cabbage, sends about 1 million cauliflowers on the market through Gasa Nord Grønt. Both conventionally grown and organic cauliflowers.
"It must be thanks to us that Styropack has introduced silk screen printing", the owner Morten Adamsen says, and continues: "Today a lot of nurseries are using regulators such as utility animals like bumblebees, birds, and gamasid to reduce the use of pesticide and fertilizer in the production of fruit and vegetables, - also called integrated production (IP).
Previously our IP mark was made by roller printing, and it could hardly be read. We complained about this printing, and after a short time Styropack was able to offer us the much better silk screen printing."
The packaging supports branded goods Also BladGrønt, the biggest nursery of special lettuce in North Europe with an annual production of about 4 million lettuce heads, has embraced Styropack’s silk screen printing.
"Every year we buy a great number of EPS boxes, and we stick to this type of packaging, because we hydro cool the lettuce. In 6 minutes we cool down the lettuce by water to 2 degrees. When the lettuce has been cooled down, we remove the water, and then the box acts as a thermo box. We have been using this system since 1981, and we were the first to use it in Europe. In spite of the water treatment our logo and slogan appear crystal clear by using silk screen print," says director and owner Gert Larsen.
DK Plant has its name associated with quality Also DK Plant, Otterup, Funen has chosen silk screen print for their boxes for cucumbers. The nursery attaches great importance to the growing of cucumbers of a very high quality, among other things by planting three times a year and by using biological pest control. At the same time the nursery lives up to the demands about environmental and quality control. The owner Flemming Petersen informs:
"Having GASA Nord Grønt as distributor we have the possibility of creating an image of our company using own logo on the vegetables boxes. As we want to be responsible for the quality of our cucumbers, we feel that it is important to show, where the cucumbers come from. By using Styropack’s silke screen print we get a sharp profile quite technically, but also regarding image". |
